Street Intersection Murals

In some Portland neighborhoods, community members, often with the help of the City Repair Project,  joined together to create gathering places, and paint murals on street intersections. We wanted to include these murals, but they were a challenge to photograph.

 

Fortunately, Portland Community College's GIS Department teaches classes about operating Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) also known as drones. With help from PCC instructor Bryan Kilburn, GIS Club members Philip Engle, Ben Meister, and Krishna Sunglieng created a plan to photograph these murals using a drone. Krishna Sunglieng was the pilot and photographer.
